Your donation to Haitian Families First will help to provide much-needed care, supplies, and opportunities for parents and families so they can avoid the need to relinquish their children. Here are just some of the ways we can put your donation to use.
- medical examinations for children range from $3.50 to $25 per visit, depending on the condition of the child
- the vitamins needed to help healthy children stay healthy cost approximately $10 per month. But most of the children Haitian Families First helps to care for suffer from anemia and other conditions, and the cost of vitamin regimens for these children is double—nearly $20 per month.
- $10 can provide a child one month’s worth of school lunches, which helps that child meet his or her long-term educational goals by helping to meet their immediate nutritional needs
- Right now, our greatest need is for formula for infants whose mothers have died in child birth. Formula is expensive in Haiti, costing nearly $13 per can. Infants need an average of 10 cans per month, so supplying fathers and other birth-family members with the $130 per month needed to meet their infants’ needs is one of our most significant expenses, one you can help us meet so that we can continue to help families.
